Paypal released its report on China SME cross-border e-commerce export, and it showed that China had become the third cross-border online shopping destination, right after the U.S. and the UK. But it also found that 63% China SME didn’t optimize their websites for mobile devices as mobile shopping grew more and more popular. This might lead to the growing bounce rate when consumers browsing websites via mobile devices.
26% interviewers said they preferred Chinese shopping sites, making China rank the third. Hong Kong ranked the fourth, with 25% favoring.
Cross-border mobile online shopping has become the trend as smartphone and tablet grew popular. 76% consumers from the U.S., the UK, Germany, Australia and Brazil expressed their willingness to use mobile to finish online shopping. Mobile friendly webpage became the top reason for consumers when choosing an online shop. Paypal’s research showed that 63% China SME didn’t optimize their websites accordingly. Some enterprises didn’t realize this problem yet, while others were too busy fixing their logistics and cross-border marketing to solve this problem.
Besides, Rohan Mahadevan, Vice President of Paypal Asia Pacific, announced on September 5 2013, that Paypal would offer compensate for qualified sellers (non-digital products ) in Asia Pacific. When buyers apply for compensate, purchase order cancellation and chargeback because of unauthorized payment and not receiving product, Alipay would fully compensate for the losses.
