Ader, a mobile advertising platform owned by renren, released its mobile internet user behavior report in 2013. It said that mobile devices became one of the important tools for getting information and mobile changed the shopping behavior. More than half mobile users shopped in online malls.
86% said they would search on mobile to get information about product, restaurant, traveling, job and housing. Product information had 60.3%.
58% users chose to shop on Taobao, Jingdong and book flight, train and even show tickets. 28% paid their water, electricity and gas bill, phone bill via mobile devices. Some also bought game props and lotteries. Only 7% said they used marriage service and investment services.
80% had used mobile as the main device to get access to internet. 71% admitted that they would not go out without a cellphone, about half even said they would rather give up desktop and TV than their mobile. Average time users spent on mobile internet reached 183 mins. From 19 to 22 was the most concentrated time for mobile users to connect internet. In the future, m-commerce would keep flourishing, 74% expressed their wish to spend more money on mobile shopping.
