Weibo-backed Miaopai was extremely popular among young users as nearly 50% of its users aged 25 years or younger. 55.3% of Miaopai users lived in tier-1 and tier-2 cities while that was 44.8% for overall short video users.

In this way, users find a way to fulfill their demand for self-expression and social interactions.
