Wandoujia, like iTunes for Android, is China’s leading Android app store with over 170 million users. It was first launched in 2010, and its international version, SnapPea, was launched in June 2012.
Wandoujia’s CEO revealed to media that the number of Wandoujia users has been growing by 500 thousand per day, 50% of Android users growing per day. It said that users natural traffic is more than 50%, which means 250 thousand users per day have known Wandoujia before they installed it on their devices. Entering app search industry at the very beginning is the major reason for Wandoujia’s success.
And when Wandoujia updated its PC version, they decided to only display 6 app recommendations, much less than the same type of Android app stores, which proved to win user recognition.
By July 21, 2013, Wandoujia has up to 200 million mobile users. Some users say Wandoujia app is annoyingly too large and has too much functions, and lots of users don’t really like this app, but statistic result shows that Wandoujia is the most popular Android app store in China.
