With the rapid development of the Internet, the post-90s have shined on the China Internet. They represent a new generation in China, especially in the Internet.
61.7 % of 16 million post-90s surf the Internet everyday, which accounts for 13% of the total number of China Internet users. In addition, the annual consumption by college students is 300 billion RMB (USD 47 billion).
Most post-90s like chatting online to build and maintain their social circles. 67.1 % of them watch movies online; 66.4% browse news; and, 61.4% use the network to download data. The rest is evenly distributed in the Forum, literary works, and blog updates.
The post-90s have their own unique characteristics. For those post-90s, the Internet is the most important way to get information rather than the traditional media. The fact that mobile phones have become their main Internet tools is catching advertisers’ attention.
Related industries should make adjustments to adapt to these potential consumers’ online habits. They tend to have impetuous consumption and always have immediate payment habits. What‘s more, they are willing to pay for freshness.
They respect human individuality and freedom who show more tolerance and understanding towards different attitudes and behavior; they are of highly execution and creativity; they have great courage to achieve their dreams; and, they will be very happy to be the source of word-of-mouth campaigns of their favorite products.
