The International Data Corporation (IDC) has released its latest report on the Chinese smartphone market for the second quarter of 2024, revealing significant growth in the industry.
According to the IDC, the market saw a year-over-year (YoY) growth of 8.9%, with total shipments reaching approximately 71.6 million units. This marks the third consecutive quarter of growth, bringing the total shipments for the first half of 2024 to 140.8 million units, a 7.7% increase from the previous year.
Key Drivers of Growth
The recovery of the Chinese smartphone market has been driven by pent-up replacement demand and a low comparison base from the previous year.
Notably, domestic brands such as vivo, Huawei, and Xiaomi played a crucial role in this resurgence, achieving significant double-digit growth.
