China local mobile advertising market is expected to exceed RMB10.142 billion (US$1.65 billion) in 2014 with an increase of 93.6% from 2013 according to EnfoDesk.
There are several reasons for the rapid growth of China’s local mobile advertising market in 2014:
- Overall mobile internet market in China is mature
- More and more advertisers realize and recognize mobile advertising’s great potential
- A great number of local SME advertisers have increased recognition in local mobile ads with the development of local businesses
- Local data adds value in mobile ad market
It is estimated that in 2014, the total number of advertisers will exceed 47,756 with an increase of 30% YoY.
In the early stage of China local mobile ad market, it is difficult to develop in tier-4 & tier-5 tier cities. Major advertisers are from tier-1 & tier-2 tier cities. With development of mobile Internet, there will be more potential in tier-3 & tier-4 cities or even in tier-5 & tier-6 cities.
